Your part is worn or broken, and you have no drawing

A wear part to remake, a machine at a standstill, a supplier that no longer exists: we start from the existing part, measure it and reproduce it identically. If it is urgent, our conventional machines turn out a part with no CNC programming.

From worn part to new part

What we need to get started

  • One or more photos of the part, with a size reference or a few dimensions taken with a calliper.
  • Its function in the machine: what rubs, what guides, what must seal.
  • The original material if you know it, the quantity and the required lead time.
  • A partial drawing or an old file, even incomplete: STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG or native PDF (not scanned).

With no documents at all, entrust the part to us: we measure it in our workshop.

How we take the measurements

Our portable KEYENCE XM-5000 optical 3D measuring machine covers a 2,000 mm volume and travels to your site: the part can be measured in place, without dismantling the equipment. It also imports CAD models (STEP, IGES) to compare the worn part with an existing model.

In the workshop, the Deltronic DH400 profile projector checks profiles, radii, angles and grooves without contact; micrometers, ring gauges and thread plug gauges complete the survey. The part is then rebuilt in CAD and programmed (TopSolid, Mastercam) before machining.

Urgent

Rework on an existing part, a one-off part needed the same day, an emergency repair job that cannot wait for CNC programming: our conventional lathes (RAMO A30, ERNAULT-SOMUA) and milling machines (DUFOUR, GRAFFENSTADEN) are kept for exactly this. A G-clamp set-up takes a few minutes.

Conventional and CNC machines stand in the same aisle: a part moves from one to the other without leaving the workshop. Our MAZAK lathes and machining centres are programmed at the machine, in MAZATROL, so that work can continue without delay when the part has to be reproduced in several copies.

Real case: valve plugs remade without a drawing

A cosmetics process line, worn valve plugs and no drawing available. The wear part was removed and measured at the customer's site, then reproduced new, identical to the original.

  • Treated stainless steel, reproduction turning on a MAZAK SQT 200 MSY CNC lathe, then fitting.
  • Sealed fit with the original valve body.
  • Improvement made: the plug was made in three parts to make fitting the seals easier.
  • 16 parts, 4 weeks including treatment.

The parts we are entrusted with

  • Wear parts and spare parts for packaging lines: pucks, star wheels, guides, fingers.
  • Plugs, bushes, shafts and valve parts.
  • Machine parts whose manufacturer has disappeared or no longer supplies them.
  • Production tooling to be remade or modified from the existing model.

Our customers' names and their drawings never leave the workshop.

Reverse engineering: your questions

Can you remake a part without a drawing?

Yes. Send a photo and a few dimensions, or entrust the part to us: we measure it, rebuild it in CAD and reproduce it. We tell you within 24 hours whether we can make it.

My machine is down: what should I do?

Call us on +33 1 64 39 96 26. For a simple one-off part, our conventional machines skip the CNC programming step.

Can the part be improved at the same time?

Yes, where it helps: a better-suited material, a part split into several pieces to ease assembly, as with the valve plugs remade in three parts. We propose it to you before manufacturing.

Can you keep wear parts in stock?

Yes, under a framework agreement: buffer stock is held at our premises and the part ships as soon as you need it.
